The msg2ai Toolkit: Set Up a Hotel, Event, or Campaign by Asking

The msg2ai Toolkit connecting an AI assistant to a hotel, event, and marketing campaign setup

Setting up a guest messaging assistant has always meant working through screens. Create the assistant, fill in the property details, add the knowledge, build the audience, write the messages.

It works. It is also the slowest part of getting started, and it has to be repeated for every property and every event.

The msg2ai Toolkit changes where that work happens. It lets an AI assistant such as Claude do the setup with you, in conversation, using your own msg2ai account.

What the Toolkit Actually Is

The Toolkit is a small connector you install once. It gives an AI assistant a safe, limited door into your msg2ai account.

It comes in two forms, and most people only need the first.

  • A connector for AI tools such as Claude, so you can simply describe what you want
  • A command line version, for teams who prefer to script repeatable setups

There are four versions, one for each kind of business: hotels, events, trips, and vacation rentals. Each one speaks the language of that business.

Behind both forms sits the same set of just over seventy capabilities, covering assistants, knowledge, contacts, campaigns, surveys, meetings, check-in, and reminders.

Why This Is Different From a Chatbot Builder

The AI assistant is not guessing or writing marketing copy into a void. It is working with the real records in your account.

That means it can:

  • Read your existing assistants and audiences
  • Pull knowledge from your own website
  • Create and update real records you can see in the app
  • Report back what it actually did

Everything it creates appears in msg2ai exactly as if a person had entered it. You can review, edit, or undo any of it.

Example 1: Opening a Hotel Concierge

A boutique hotel wants guests to be able to ask questions over WhatsApp instead of calling the front desk.

Step 1: Describe the Property

You tell the assistant what the property is and where it is. It creates the concierge assistant with the property details, location, and key contacts already filled in.

Step 2: Point It at Your Website

Rather than writing an FAQ from scratch, you give it your hotel website. It reads the pages and turns them into the knowledge the concierge answers from.

This usually covers the questions guests ask most:

  • Wi-Fi and parking
  • Check-in and check-out times
  • Pool and gym hours
  • Dining and room service
  • Property policies

Step 3: Add What Is Not on the Website

House rules, seasonal notes, and the things staff know but never wrote down can be added as their own knowledge notes.

Step 4: Connect a Number and a Guest List

You attach a messaging number your property already has, then seed the in-house guest list and set up a pre-arrival message.

The result is a working concierge. The part that matters is what happens next: the same conversation can be repeated for the second property, and the fiftieth. For a management company, that is the real saving.

Example 2: Running a Conference

An event team is preparing for a six hundred person conference and is currently moving attendee lists between several systems by hand.

Before the Event

The assistant creates the event assistant with the agenda, speakers, and sponsors, then reads the event website for everything else.

It can then connect your ticketing so registrations arrive on their own, and you can watch them land rather than exporting spreadsheets.

On the Day

Check-in codes can be generated for attendees, and the team can see arrivals and check-in numbers as the doors open.

Attendee meeting requests and available slots are handled in the same place, instead of a separate scheduling tool.

After the Event

A feedback survey can be created, opened, and later closed, with results summarized for the debrief.

The point is not that any one of these is hard today. It is that they normally live in six different places, and the Toolkit lets one assistant assemble them from the systems that already hold the answers.

Example 3: Sending a Marketing Campaign

This is the simplest example, and the one most teams will reach for first.

You can ask the assistant to:

  • Show who is in your audience today
  • Build a segment, such as past guests in one city
  • Write the message
  • Assemble the campaign
  • Show it to you before anything is sent

Only then does sending happen, and only if you ask for it.

Campaigns can also be paused or cancelled after they start.

You Decide What It Is Allowed to Touch

This is the part worth reading twice, because it is what makes the rest comfortable.

Access is granted through a key that an administrator creates in Settings. When you create it, you choose exactly what it can do.

  • Keys are read-only by default
  • Writing, sending, and exporting are each granted separately
  • Keys expire, and can be revoked at any time
  • Every key has a daily limit on how many people it can message
  • Phone numbers in contact and conversation records are shown only as the last four digits

In practice this means you can give a drafting assistant a key that can prepare an entire campaign and is physically unable to send it. Sending stays with a person, or with a key you deliberately trusted.

Because sending costs money, it is treated carefully. Recipients are counted against the key's daily allowance before anything is queued, and a send that goes over the limit is refused rather than partly delivered.

What Still Needs a Person

A few things are deliberately left out, and it is fair to say so plainly.

  • Getting a brand new phone number is still handled by our team. The Toolkit can move a number you already have between your own assistants, but it cannot claim a new one
  • Submitting message templates for WhatsApp approval still follows the normal process
  • Changing an assistant's core instructions requires a key an administrator has specifically allowed to do that

These are not gaps waiting to be filled quietly. They are the decisions we think should stay with a named person.

Getting Started

If you already use msg2ai, you can try this today.

  • Ask an administrator to create a key in Settings, under Agent Keys
  • Copy the key when it is shown, as it is only displayed once
  • Add the connector to your AI tool, or install the command line version
  • Start with a read-only key and ask it to describe your account back to you

That last step is the honest way to begin. Before letting anything create or send, ask it what it can see. It is the fastest way to build trust in what you have just connected.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the msg2ai Toolkit?

It is a connector that lets an AI assistant, or a command line, work directly with your msg2ai account to set up assistants, knowledge, audiences, campaigns, surveys, meetings, and check-in.

Do I need to be technical to use it?

No. The usual way to use it is to connect it to an AI assistant and describe what you want in plain language. The command line version exists for teams who prefer to script repeatable setups.

Is it safe to give an AI assistant access to my account?

Access is controlled by a key you create, and keys are read-only unless you grant more. You choose what each key may do, keys expire, they can be revoked at any time, and there is a daily limit on how many people a key can message.

Can it send messages to my guests without asking me?

Only if you give it a key with permission to send. A key created without that permission can prepare a campaign but cannot deliver it.

Does it work for hotels as well as events?

Yes. There are four versions, for hotels, events, trips, and vacation rentals, and all of them work with the same underlying account.

What happens to everything it creates?

It appears in msg2ai as normal records. You can review, edit, or remove anything it made, the same as if it had been entered by hand.
